Our Grade 7 to 12 students are strengthening their skill in phonics and fluency through developmentally appropriate instruction that applies directly to both reading and writing.
To support students with enhancing reading comprehension, teachers are providing direct, explicit instruction in the area of vocabulary. Students are deeply exploring the meaning of words and applying their learning to all content areas.
Students are also learning reading strategies that can be used flexibly with various forms of text.
